These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Reader", "Client", or "User") and Haast Journeys Ltd (NZBN: 9429051882012) governing your access to haastjourneys.co.nz and our expedition advisory services.
Haast Journeys publishes independent travel journals, logistical route breakdowns, and custom overland travel blueprints across New Zealand. We are an informational publication and editorial consultancy. We do not operate as a licensed carrier, commercial passenger transport service, or rental fleet broker.
New Zealand's alpine and coastal environments are inherently hazardous. While we exert exhaustive diligence to verify pass conditions, track statuses, and legal bylaws, mountain weather in Aotearoa can deteriorate without warning. All travelers remain solely responsible for assessing personal fitness, checking daily Department of Conservation (DOC) warnings, and carrying suitable survival equipment.
All written text, photographic assets, custom maps, and proprietary dossier layouts are the intellectual property of Haast Journeys Ltd and protected under the New Zealand Copyright Act 1994. Unauthorized reproduction, programmatic scraping, or redistribution for commercial sale is strictly prohibited without written consent.
Bespoke route blueprints and briefing sessions are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST) where required. Consultation fees cover the research time of our field curators and are non-refundable once work has commenced.
To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, including the Fair Trading Act 1986 and Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Haast Journeys Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, punitive, or consequential damages resulting from road closures, vehicle mechanical failures, weather disruptions, or personal injuries sustained during self-directed travel.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this agreement shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the District Court or High Court of New Zealand.
